About Us

Islands by the Bay is a San Francisco Community Festival celebrating the various cultures of the Asian, Pacific Islands, including Micronesia and Macaronesia. Launched in 2022, by Legacies of the Pacific (LOP), this annual festival's  goal is to sustain a coalition that supports Pacific Rim communities. LOP is a diverse culture driven organization that connects its community and promotes collaboration.

Islands by the Bay Festival honors its community with scholarships in sports, music, and dance. It gives Bay Area entertainers a platform to showcase their talents and gives local retail and food vendors a way to get to know the community to build rapport and stimulate economic development through their entrepreneurial spirit.

Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco gets filled with approximately 30 Bay Area food and retail vendors showcasing all AAPI crafts. Our stage brings in over 150 AAPI Bay Area entertainers, along side with great Outreach partners to patron an estimate of over 850-1000 attendees. The festival celebrates Bay Area AAPI dance companies, musicians, speakers, comics, poets, public personalities and local politicians.
